Your Building is a partnership project of the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Construction Innovation, the Australian Greenhouse Office (AGO) of The Department of the Environment and Water Resources, and ASBEC. Your Building was launched in September, 2007.
The design and development of the portal content and web platform were informed by intensive cross sector and cross-geography industry consultation, and were guided by a steering committee from the project partners.
The foundation content on the site was authored by specialist researchers and industry practitioners and reviewed by other academic and industry specialists. It is aligned with the industry’s needs and structured to enable a high level of personal input, interaction, and exchange.
The Property Council of Australia purchased the Your Building IP in February 2009 and took responsibility for the site in August 2009.
With a network of 55,000 property industry professionals, the Property Council is ideally placed to enhance and propagate the Your Building site.
The ultimate objective of the portal is to change behaviours towards more sustainable outcomes right across the commercial buildings industry. To do this the site has been consciously designed to provide both “hard” technical and “soft” strategic and cultural information.
Your Building is a portal to the best advice on greening the performance of commercial property, connecting building investors, designers, managers and occupants to smart ideas, `know how’ and the latest thinking on green building trends, easy-to-use decision-making tools and helpful case studies.
The new site contains instructive videos that showcase innovative building design and management practices.
