The Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC) welcomes the opportunity to provide a formal submission in response to the Consultation Regulation Impact Statement (CRIS) on proposed National Construction Code 2025 (NCC 2025) standards for energy efficiency.

We thank the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) for the substantial effort that it has put into the NCC 2025 and its broader work over the years. We look forward to continued collaboration with the ABCB on this edition and future iterations of the NCC to ensure successful delivery of policy goals held by both industry and governments.

ASBEC’s member organisations have provided separate submissions on the technical aspects of the NCC 2025 public comment draft. This submission focuses on the CRIS and its associated economic analysis. Our submission is informed by both our own analysis and research archives, along with broad industry consultation.
